The newly appointed coach of Ghana Black Star, CK Akonnor has named his 23- man squad to face Sudan in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers (AFCON).
Surprisingly, the general captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan, was not in the 23-man squad to face Sudan in Cape Coast.
Apart from the general captain, some key players in the squad that represented in 2019 African Cup of Nations held in Egypt, were also dropped in the squad to face Sudan.

Meanwhile, the Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan has reacted to his exclusion from the squad.
The once upon a time Asante Kotoko hero after a successful wedding, has been gradually losing his position as Kotoko first choice shot-stopper to Kwame Baah who has been impressive in the team’s Ghana Premier League campaign.
His absence in between the sticks for Kotoko has culminated to his exclusion from the Black Stars squad, losing the spot to Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Attah who has earned his debut Black Stars call-up.
Just after the squad was announced by CK Akonnor, Felix Annan dropped a subtle message on his twitter page saying ‘Thank You’ which some believe it a vile dig to Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu for constantly benching him.
Despite his absence from the Black Stars squad, Felix Annan is expected to work his way out at Kotoko to enable him regain his slot in the Black Stars.
