The newly appointed coach of Ghana Black Star, CK Akonnor has named four local-based players to join his 23- man squad to face Sudan in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
These players are goalkeeper Richard Attah (Hearts of Oak), defender Habib Mohammed (Asante Kotoko), defender Kwadwo Amoako(AshantiGold) and forwarder Yahaya Mohammed (Aduana Stars)
shockingly, the general captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan, was not in the 23-man squad to face Sudan in Cape Coast.
Whiles non of the local-based defenders pleased the head coach.
The squad to face Sudan in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers are:

Defenders: Kwadwo Amoako(AshantiGold), Andy Yiadom(Reading), Gideon Mensah(Waregem) , Nicholas Opoku(Amiens), Joseph Aidoo(Celta Vigo), Kasim Nuhu (Düsseldorf) and Habib Mohammed(Asante Kotoko).
Midfielders: Mubarak Wakaso (Jiangsu), Alfred Duncan(Fiorentina) , Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid) Kudus Mohammed (Nordsjaelland). Iddrisu Baba(Mallorca) Andre Ayew (Swansea).
Forwards: Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace), Richmond Boakye- Yiadom(Crvena zvezda), Eugene Ansah (Hapoel Ra’anna), Yahaya Mohammed (Aduana Stars)
The match is played on 27th March,2020 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium and the return match is in Omdurman in three days time, which is 30th March,2020.
