Hon Eugene T.K Bashiru, a member of the People’s National Convention and former parliamentary candidate for chereponi constituency in the North East region has accused President Akufo-Addo of failing Ghanaians in the fight of Corruption.
Speaking to SOKY NEWS, Hon. Bashiru said the then-candidate Akufo-Addo in 2016 made a lot of noise about the corrupt Mahama administration and promised to investigate and prosecute all corrupt officials through the office of the special prosecutor.
According to him, after President Akufo-Addo appointed the special prosecutor, he has not been able to investigate any of the corruption allegations leveled against the Mahama administration not to talk of prosecuting them.
He added that unfortunately, President Akufo-Addo is shielding the people in his administration who have allegedly engaged in corrupt activities contrary to his words and promises.
“Corruption is something that over the years President Akufo-Addo has been talking about. He is the first President to appoint a special prosecutor but what happened to his office? Absolutely nothing. Is this why he calls himself the best president to fight corruption? No, I believe in President Akufo-Addo’s government but he has failed Ghanaians” he said.
