The NPP parliamentary candidate race in Botianor Ngleshie Amanfro constituency has been gingered as Hon. Gifty Mensah filed her nomination forms to unseat Alhaji Saad.
‘Fear grabbed’ other candidates as hundreds of delegates decided to join Madam Gifty Mensah in filing her forms at the constituency office, claiming they believe strongly that Madam Gifty Mensah is the sent down savior for the constituency.
Speaking to the Press, the “Yaa Asantewaa” of the race said she is very bold and strongly believe she will conquer the four men in the race.
Explaining why delegates should vote for her, she said she has lived in the constituency and worked as a teacher of over 20 years which makes her know and understand the pain and cry of the constituents.
As part of the numerous work she has done in the party, she said she has worked at the polling station level since 2004 as people who helped in establishing the beach drive polling station branch of the party when there was no branch by then.
The only lady among the race said when she is voted by the delegates to lead the constituency in the 2020 general election, she will unite the party and work harder to retain the parliamentary seat.
She encouraged the delegates never to lose hope but rather rally strongly behind her and when she wins, she will never stop help she has been rendering to the constituent with the little she has, but will expand it by creating block, gari, fish factories to reduce the unemployment rate in the constituency.
“As a teacher, I know how to work with everybody and am passionate to see the success of everyone so please vote for me, and you will never regret” she pleaded.
With a Ga language “K3 ale bo 333 b3 ale bo” which means if the people know you, they know you, she advised all her followers to go out and do a clean campaign without attacking others.
On his part, the chairman of the council of elders of the new patriotic party in the Botianor Ngleshie Amanfro constituency advised all the five candidates of which madam Gifty Mensah happens to be the only woman not to engage in any form of insults in their campaign.
According to him, this is an internal election which has to be free and fair, therefore if any candidate says something other about another and the person happens to win, it will be very difficult for the party to sell the person to retain power in the 2020 general election.
