The Member of Parliament for Shai Osudoku constituency, in the Greater Accra Region, Hon Linda Akweley Ocloo has stated that, she sees nothing wrong with minority’s ‘bloody widow’ tag on Hon. Lydia Alhassan Agyarko.
Speaking to Akwasi Aboakye on neat FM this morning, the legislature said Ghanaians have misinterpreted the actions of the minority when Hon. Lydia Alhassan Agyarko was called to the floor of Parliament to be sworn in as a Member of Parliament.
According to Hon. Ocloo, even though she was not in parliament yesterday when the incident happened, she knows the minority was not attacking the widow in question but was rather referring to the process of which she was elected.
“I believe they
wheretalking about what happened during the election.
I personally don’t see anything wrong with a widow contesting in a by-election of her dead husband’s constituency because am also a widow but the grevanses of the minority was not the widow in person but rather, the kind of brutalities that went on during the by-election which made her the winner is what they are referring to as ‘bloody’.
In fact what happened at during the election was very bad and I was expecting the woman to come out and condemn the barbaric action but she did not.
I see no problem with the ‘Bloody Widow’ tag” she defended.
