A BREIF HISTORY OF UGMC
The first phase of the University of Ghana Medical Centre was commissioned by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday 4th January 2017, at a well-attended state ceremony.
In his address, the ex President cited the influence of his predecessor, the late John E.A. Mills, in initiating the project, and reminded the audience that development is a painstaking process.
He noted that the construction of the Medical Training and Simulation Centre wing of the hospital would improve the training of medical personnel, attract the youth and medical professionals to further their study in medicine and allied health sciences, and would help to ameliorate the perennial problem of brain drain.
The ex President expressed the hope that the incoming President of the Republic of Ghana would give the hospital a teething five year operational capacity before allowing it to be self financing.
The people in attendance were, Professors Aaron Lawson, Ernest Aryeetey, Hon. Alex Segbefia (Minister of Health), H.E. President John D. Mahama, Vice Chancellor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, Eli Habakkuk, H.E. Ami Mehl (Israeli Ambassador)
Kwaku Agyemang Manu the health minister and others are now resting in the green book non existing UGMC
Dear appointees I am glad to inform you that the facility you refused it’s existence, the artistic impression is now a resting place for you, your family and friends.
I am very sad as a Ghanaian but proud as an NDC member because John Dramani Mahama has made me a proud member to be associated with the NDC party.
I guess the ministers are resting in the artistic impression In the green book
Ex president John Dramani Mahama has virtually exposed your lies and incompetence with massive infrastructure in the health sector
Today the UGMC has become so attractive that a health minister and his colleagues ministers of state can go and pass time there by resting at the UGMC facility.
Kudos to the ex-president and incoming president John osiadia yie Mahama for a great work done at all levels infrastructures in Ghana
The long and short of it is, I wish you all speedy recovery and rest in peace
