COVID-19: Remain at where you are for the safety of your relatives – Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council urges natives in hotspot areas

The Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council has urged its natives residing in the diaspora especially those in the Coronavirus hotspot areas (Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, etc) to remain at where they are for the safety of their relatives(old and young)at home to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council has urged its natives residing in the diaspora especially those in the Coronavirus hotspot areas (Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, etc) to remain at where they are for the safety of their relatives(old and young)at home to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

In a press release signed by Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama II, the Paramount Chief and President of the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council on 29th March 2020, the council outlined some precaution measures they wish their natives will follow.

This includes adhering to the President’s directives in controlling the spread of the Coronavirus.

IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

The Paramount chief of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area wish to extend his greetings from Okogyeabour palace to all inhabitants of Sefwi and it environs.

  1. That, the traditional council together with the government and other stakeholders are working hard to ensure the safety of all Sefwi citizens and inhabitants of Sefwi.
  2. That all must adhere to the President’s directives in controlling the spread of the Coronavirus in our communities.
  3. I wish to inform all Sefwi citizens or natives of Sefwi residing in the diaspora especially those in the Coronavirus hotspot areas (Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, etc) to remain at where they are for the safety of their relatives(old and young)at home to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus. And anyone who thinks he or she has been exposed to this virus should self isolate for two weeks. By this, we will appreciate their loyalty, , sacrifice and love for our motherland (Sefwi Wiawso Traditional.
  4. That, All chiefs under Wiawso traditional council are to lead a special prayer and rites to purify their communities and seek the face of God and also ensure that should they detect any case in their communities should quarantine such person and call upon the nearest hospital or health centre for the necessary intervention. This should be done with care.
  5. That, all chiefs are to ensure that, social distancing, washing of hands with soap under running water and robbing of hand with sanitizers are practised by all inhabitants in their communities
  6. That, I appreciate the efforts of our politicians, companies and individuals for their donations to the health centres, hospitals and communities to help fight the pandemic.

The traditional council will continue to offer support and education to anyone in need during these hard times of Coronavirus.

The traditional council has put in measures to support the elderly and the needy in our community should maters get critical and numbers Will be provided to call for such assistance when the need arises.

Please continue to practice social distancing, hand washing and hand sanitizers.
