IMANI Ghana expresses dissatisfaction of Electoral Commission ways of purchasing new voters machine ahead of 2020 election indicating that the reasons for procuring the machine is untrue and will have an effect on 2020 election or subsequent elections.
According to them the argument that the system is too old and cannot be use for the 2020 election is untrue. Also the cost of the machine to be purchase is too expensive and the country stand the chance of losing over dollars towards the purchase.
Vice president of Imani Ghana, Kofi Bentil discloses this at a press conference in Accra this afternoon to address some pertinent issues gathered by Imani Ghana towards EC intention to purchase equipment for the voters registration.
He said countries likes Nigeria ,Afghanistan and others have try these machines but didn’t work therefore there is a thundancy that some might happen if EC go ahead to purchase.
Mr Bentil cautioned EC to be transparent and adhered to the voice of the citizenry to prevent and future calamity.
