The Minister of Communication also a member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has advised the general public, particularly children, not to send or share any nude pictures or personal vital information to strangers whenever they are using the Internet.
This According to her, all kinds of information can be accessed through the internet and therefore, it is the responsibility of the user to ensure that the right information is been put out there in other not to fall into danger.
She made this assertion at this year’s African Safer Internet Day Celebrations organized by the Cyber Security Centre at the Ministry of Communication, to create awareness and also teach the general public and school-going children as to how to use the internet safely without exposing themselves to dangers.
The Ablekuma West lawmaker further revealed that, there are dangersattached to the use of internet and therefore, it is important for school children to know in other to guide themselves against it.
Delivering the keynote address, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful entreated school children not to accept friends request from strangers and also be careful about those they become friends with, saying not all of them are good.
“Use the knowledge you have acquired from this year’s celebration to teach your parents, friends, family members and visitors about the dangers associated with the use of internet ” she opined.
