Ghana Tech Lab, an Ecosystem hub, launches the Ghana Startup Ecosystem Ranking 2020 to measure the nature and level of Ghana’s Startup Ecosystem in 13 regions across Ghana.

The Ghana Startup Ecosystem Mapping forms part of the Pathways to sustainable Employment(PaSE) Project funded by the MasterCard foundation under the Young Africa Works initiative(YAW) which seeks to create 3 million jobs in Ghana.

The Tech Lab aims to accelerate and catalyze Ghana’s position as Africa’s number one(No 1) centre for highly skilled digital workforce/human capital, ideas to the market accelerator, and be a fertile platform for innovative and promising Startups in Africa.

Speaking to this reporter at the launch, Miss Emelia Enyonam Kuleke said the team from Ghana Tech Lab engaged some business operators across the country to find out how their businesses are doing and the challenges confronting them as well.

This according to her, most businesses are not striving due to the collapse of financial institutions in the banking sector which forced people in certain communities to form groups to help one another with financial aid to serve as startups for their businesses in those areas.

“The Ghana Tech Lab’s establishment is under the ministry of Communications Ghana’s E-transform project with the funding from the World Bank” she added.

She further stated that the Ghana Tech Lab will help drive Tech innovations and advance digital transformation in Ghana through skills training and providing innovative entrepreneurs support and investment for startups.
